Diafix
is a fixing agent for trash in paper production. Closed circulation systems, paper production in the neutral/alkaline range, the use of virgin pulp and CaCO3 as well as increased use of deinked paper as raw material. All result in an increase in the mainly anionic and nonionic interfering substance potential, and therefore, after a certain time, lead to production difficulties. These substances are not, or are only partially adsorbed by the solids of the papermaking stock. Their concentration therefore increases in the water circulation system. Diafix as a fixing agent for interfering substances, has the function of eliminating or neutralizing the anionic charges or charge carriers. Using Diafix, the effect of the retention agent is improved, with regard to dewatering and retention, and consumption is reduced. Uncontrolled precipitations and deposits are reduced in the complete machine system, and the quality characteristics of the finished paper are improved. The COD burden in the circulation water is partly reduced.
